Gift of Hearing for a Blind Man
Darran Zenger of Eagle Mountain is in need of a cochlear implant, a device that will allow him to hear again after being deaf since age five. Darran has a condition known as Usher Syndrome. Throughout his life he has gradually become deaf and blind. He now has a wife and three children ages 5 – 13. Darran’s disabilities are too great to allow him to work, so the family relies on his wife’s income. However, his wife was in a car accident four years ago and received permanent brain damage. She has short-term memory loss among other things. Between Darran’s physical disabilities and his wife’s mental disabilities, life has become increasingly difficult. A cochlear implant will allow Darran to return to school to get his Master’s degree so that he can be employed, hopefully helping others who are deaf and blind.
We are asking for any donations you are able to provide and thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We need to raise about $16,000. ALL proceeds go to Darran and a small part to a scholarship program for rural area kids. There is no overhead cost; all work is done by volunteers.
TheWest Memorial Foundation Inc is helping sponsor fundraising. Please donate directly and securely to any Mountain America Credit Union into The West Memorial Foundation Inc.-Darran Zenger account. Thank you so much for your support and donations.
